hlfill (with "-p 1 -r steam" or "-p 4 -r valve") is the only tool, as far as I remember Steam servers use the authorization system (something like what happened with the old WON).

yeah i saw posts about it too ... those options doesnt work.
...making quick test to see what does it say...
ok now thats WIERD ... i did
''hlfill -p 1 -r steam ip:port''
Player: .1594611529.
Error: the server has sent an unexpected reply:
LAN servers are restricted to local clients <class C>.

and exactly same error with ''hlfill -p 4 -r valve ip:port''
Would it work if i have valid cd-key ?

uhmmm if the problem was the random cdkey built by hlfill I think the error message was different.
As far as I know I have never tested a steam online server at all (here I have HL but never upgraded it to the steam version), the reason was just that I think it uses an authorization mechanism like the old WON so out of the job of hlfill

"STEAM validation rejected"
this is the correct reply, since means that the cdkey you supplied is not valid online or you didn't login on Steam (or both, don't know the details)

unlike most games..i think that steam actually needs VALID cd-key. .if its not valid then steam will terminate the connection and wont accept any packets after the ''cd-key'' packet.

in avp2 (one game i hacked/exploited). I was able to get fake player into server without a cd-key. YES it was a visible PLAYER. i was able to move it around by sending packets ''right'' ''left'' ''shoot'' ..etc, but i was totally blind there. I was able to see whts happening by going into same server myself so i was able to see what my bot does there.

but in steam its not possible cuz it will terminate connection if cd-key is not valid. ...at least thats what i have found out.

avp2 uses the Lithtech engine which is (ok was since it was an old version of it) not the best example in terms of basic security... it's enough to think that my lithfp tool can add fake players to any server which is protected by password without knowing the keyword.

About hlfill, is possible to configure the "cdkey" and "raw" fields simply using relatively the -k or -r option, then additional parameter can be added with -a

lithtech engine sucked ... it was vulnerable from every side lol. I mean cmon .. i edit game with a memory editor and dedicated server where i am crashes haha...how stupid is that.

hmmm...with those options -k or -r i can add cd-key ? ..didnt fully understand it. Gonna have to open it and test it to understand what you meant lol. (i have loads of valid cd-keys which i can use)

..but i actually think that if you do it on few servers, then VAC is gonna ban your cd-key. one of my accounts got banned for NOTHING...so basically they ban everything that looks suspecious :S

about Lithtech, just today I have updated my fake players tool.
The only things missed (partial) are the GUIDs of nolf2 and tron, so if someone has a join packet in the hands it can be very useful.

that error is because of steam, you need a steam to use tool,i had same error and then i used steam acc. from friend and tried then-it works and i was banned 2 min. later :D
