Hi,

I have the hlboom.exe file which i read from many posts (that i dont understand :( ) can be used to crash a cs 1.6 server.

I have the following question..Can someone anwser pleaseeeee :

I play cs 1.6 on lan and want to crash a server with known password and ip..I dont care if my ip is revealed in this process. How do i do this? :)

p.s : i already tried csdos but that is useless to crash a passworded server..or atleast thats what i think..do correct me if i am wrong.

the fact that it's a lan server probably means that you want only to make a joke to a friend... anyway I'm not interested in what you (in general) have in mind to do, this is only a support forum.

hlboom is an old vulnerability so CS 1.6 should be safe as far as I know.

For additional informations about the hlfreeze/csdos/btbp vulnerabilities read here:

From what I understand you are saying cs 1.6 is safe versus hlboom but csdos can crash a passworded server(this i read in the link above).

Is that correct? If so can you please elaborate on how to use csdos to crash a passworded server? :)

the fact is that I have never tested a cs 1.6 server, all my tests have been performed with Half-Life x.1.1.1e because it's the reference for the Half-Life 1 engine.

Anyway, yes, csdos works also if the server is protected with password which means that you must know the right keyword (the list of differences in my document was a comparison with hlfreeze in which the password field was not possible to be handled and so an old password server was not vulnerable to hlfreeze)
