This was posted after talking about using IRC to enter game lobbies instead of using GSA. We were hurassed about changing the topic or else a ban. Then this happend.....
<L|Qu|DRav3r> lol

<Admin> This lobby has now been moderated due to your inability to listen

15min later...

<Admin> I will restore chat, but change the subject

Forced to talk about something else but mean while in the terms & rules there was nothing in there stating about it.

I have been banned from their service aswell with a dozen others just for that & its stupid. I tried using ur peerchat_irc.exe but it keeps saying disconnected after i changed mac. For some reason i can only connect through GSA by opening your peerchat_proxy first then loading Aphex.exe

Any suggestions?

Hey, seems that Gamespy doesn't like to have people using their IRC server (peerchat) used just like... an IRC server as it is.

Anyway the latest version of peerchat_irc (0.3a) works very well so I don't know why you receive errors, probably the admin has banned your IP address (I hope it's dynamic).
When you use peerchat_irc, in what moment you are disconnected? when you join the server or a specific room?

Right when i try to connect it throws a list of games & the keys, then it repeats disconnected over & over. Im on static :-( I did have a dynamic ip before which i noticed was easier to get around from a mute/gag

Just today when i loged on...

Uhmmm there is something strange here.
Naturally yesterday before replying to your post I have tried peerchat_irc here and no ban or other unusual things.
The server identifies you, which means two things:
- IP address: if you are NATted, and this happens with some ISP (check your real IP address on the web), your IP remains the same
- strings in your IRC clients: some mods or special IRC clients send additional strings which could be identified by the peerchat server

They are banning you by both your nick and IP.

You should check what peerchat_irc tells you, not what your IRC client does.

Then peerchat_proxy is only for servers not for clients.

Hi Guys,

I fiddled with Tor/sockscap (or freecap) but couldn't get it to run stable on win32. (I needed a solution for my ip-ban on gamespy)

After a while i found this solution http://janusvm.peertech.org/. Basically, it's TOR/PROXIFY in a Vmware machine, so you do need Vmware player for it to work.

After installing, you just open up a VPN connection to your virtual machine and routes all traffic through TOR. Changing your public ip is done by a simple keypress. DNS leakes are taken care of too (for my purposes this wasn't necessary)

Not very fast, but fast enough for my purposes.

And to Luigi: I admire your work, thumbs up!

Dont know wtf were you doing, but sockscap + Tor works perfectly on windows.

I have sockscap, Vidalia bundle (tor + vidalia and no extras) and custom windows xp. Everything works just fine. I will choose the program in sockscap and specify the parameters and run it. Oh yeah and ... in sockscap i also chose TOR (127.0.0.1:9050) .. its slow, but its working.
