I would be really pleased if you could release a patch for the annoying modelcrash in jedi academy... is it possible?
When you don't know anything about this bug, I uploaded a simple example(or PoC, however you want to call it)-config file. Download below. /exec modelcrash when you are connected to a server, and jka will crash, you will be send back to your desktop but the bugged/wrong model you placed in the server will crash every player who hasn't cg_forcemodel 1 when they're refreshing the models of the clients playing in the server(by pressing tab or when they died, seeing the scoreboard will cause a model refresh and the crash of the client).
Can you help us? <.<'

Argh lol, I forgot that it's already fixed in JKA version 1.0.1.... Hm under that aspect, is it possible to port this patch to version 1.0.0. then?

don't know, I have only version 1.01 and I don't waste time with old versions of games which have been already patched officially

OK, since it's a client-side crash, I can make a .pk3 work-around for you. First you have to tell me all models that crash, if this is the only one then it'll be an easy job.

EDIT: OK I just tested everything and it appears you seem to be f***ed, lol. It appears you can crash with any of the custom models using basically any sort of combination for it to crash clients. This is worse than JK2 1.02's model galak_mech client crash. Heh. OK I can fix this, but it will either be A. A 52MB .pk3, because that's how big all 6 custom models are. Or B. about a 5mb .pk3 that basically doesn't allow you to do custom models at all, by over riding the custom model selection.
This is a client crash, so it can't really be fixed through a server, unless of course ban.
Now seeing how I know nothing, nor do I play, about JA it wont really be an "easy fix" like I said. I'll wait for your reply for me to give further details.

EDIT #2: OK I have tried my fix for it and it has failed. I am sorry to say but I do not think there will be a work-around or fix for this in JA 1.0. You could try disassembling the cgame.dll for both versions of JA to compare(assets2 and 3) and see if you can edit it to fix it.

What version of JA do u play on, 1.0 or 1.01?

or something rather weird, most likely anything u can think of :/

either way i'd appreciate a patch for it cause i kind of dislike running around with forcemodel on 24/7

well i tried my 'fix'... this 1 must be a source-code only fix >_> but ravensoft fixed it in 1.01 (finally ravensoft did something right)
