Hi everyone,

I have a question about the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (Xbox 360) FSB's. music_definitions.pak is filled with FSB's. I extracted all of the FSB's and discovered that they were all multichannel (8 ch) mp3's. A friend told me to look for FEV files, which you can load up into FMOD Event Player, and play the multichannel mp3 files. However, there were no FEV files anywhere in the disk image, and I scanned music_definitions.pak for FEV headers, to no avail. I used a FEV from another game, however for most of the songs this FEV did not work properly, and the channels did not match up correctly.

I have tried to use FSBext for extracting these FSB's but the mp3's extracted are recognized as two channels rather than eight channels, making the song sound nothing like what it should sound like.

Is there some way to deinterleave/decode these 8 channel mp3 files?

Here is one of the FSB's that I extracted from music_definitions.pak.

Thank you very, very, very much in advance!

Regards, Ben

ok I understand what you mean.
the multichannel mp3 created by fmod sounds like at "rallenty" with programs like vlc, mplayer and winamp.

the problem is that what should I do with fsbext?
the mp3 file is stored as is so it's a job of the player to read the files correctly (as far as I have read doesn't exist a standard for multichannel mp3s).

maybe I can check if it's possible to extract only the 2 channels for creating a normal mp3, I'll check

Maybe it's the header that makes it read it as a normal mp3? I know of some players specially made for multichannel mp3.

Do you think it would be possible to mix the 8 channels down into 2 channels during conversion?

I seem to be having the same problem as pie as to how to decode or deinterleave this multichannel mp3.

They seem to have an interleave byte at these offsets FF of 290 bytes. that is the only clue i have.

Oh and i am pies freind btw :D

for the moment and the near future there will be no news from me about this matter.
they are for sure interleaved mp3s but it's a field that I have never studied so I don't know more.
