does any1 know it ? the fake steam that allows you to download all games.
reason y i made this topic is that .. i would really want to know if those rumors are true that you get banned if you use this.
obviously if you use your real account with it they will ban it, but what ive heard is that even if you use fake account - then close paccafe - open real steam and login with your real account .. then somehow they will ban it too.

yes it sounds ridiculous, but is it ?

from those comments ... it seems that bunch of wannabes just call eachother idiots and such by knowing nothing. to me it seems quite impossible to get your real account banned if you use fake account in paccafe.
well ofcourse if u install paccafe into same folder with steam then you prolly get banned..actually paccafe will overwrite half of steam files. paccafe just seems to be hacked steam.

I guess if somebody have looked into it then its prolly Luigi. i mean looked into program (how it works, does it communicate with real steam...etc) .. not just installed and used it.

First rule: never trusting blindly to something which is on Youtube or trusting to the stupid comments and descriptions available in those videos.

This one was the first time I heard about this paccafe and so I made a quick search on google and as usual this is one of the tools that don't have a homepage, a description or more details, the only informations about it are the stupid comments of people who casually know how to turn on their pc.
Anyway the job of this tool seems to be related to the usage of the encrypted gcf of steam or something similar.

So I continued my search and I found that cs.rin.ru has a full and maintained list of games downloaded from steam and already decrypted and ready to use:

http://cs.rin.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?t=46055

So I don't know if Steam can identify and consequently ban this pacthis/pacthat (and I have no intension of trying it for various reasons included the absolute lack of interest in the entire matter) but naturally Steam is updated frequently as much as the authors want so they have more chances to study and take solutions versus an unwanted program, moreover if this program needs steam to work

well i never trust those comments, but im just paranoid.
you didnt actually install it ?

it does NOT need steam at all. pacsteam(paccafe) IS the steam itself. its like a cracked version of steam. it installs into totally new folder and has its own files. this is y those comments look ridiculous. there's just no way that real steam can know you have it installed (well it did install some files into windows folder if im correct).
when you open /paccafe folder then it looks just like /steam folder.
it has all the same files.
i added 2 pics .. pic of paccafe folder and pic of steam folder. (Luigi you should change forum options if possible, so attached pics would show as image).
anyways that site. looks good, but only problem is .. you prolly can't update those games. point of paccafe is that you can keep all games up to date. half of them doesn't work anyways ''says that steam servers r too busy, try again later'' and its not because of servers (never happen i think), its just because they patched something.

main question is still, is there any way real steam can detect it and ban your real account even if you don't use it with paccafe.

If they are a cracked version of Steam means that they are based on an old version so if for example the Steam developers have introduced a new feature of the protocol like an additional handshake and the old client doesn't reply they can ban that account.
The server, the protocol and the official clients are EVER under the control of Steam so if doesn't exists a project and moreover a continuosly updated project these programs have short life.
So, for replying to your question, technically is possible to ban the accounts which can use alternative programs but naturally all depends ever by the techniques/solutions used by who created the alternative program to bypass certain checks and the Steam developers.

yeah i don't have doubts that you get banned when using your account in that paccafe steam (cracked steam). im pretty sure they will ban your account if you use it.

but rumors are about REAL steam. they say that if you have this cracked steam in your computer and then use REAL steam to log into your real account (one that u havent used with cracked steam) then they will ban you too. im pretty sure that if you use cracked steam to download games from their own servers (games u dont have) they will notice it and ban the account, because technically its piracy.

question is: is there any way that real steam can detect that paccafe in your computer. as far as i know, steam has no scanning tools in it ... exept VAC, but VAC doesn't ban accounts...it only VAC bans (so u cant play in secure servers), but they whine that whole account got banned/disabled.

i still think that, this idea is completely ridiculous, that steam detects paccafe and bans all your accounts that you have used from your pc with real steam (while you had paccafe installed too). it just seems impossible, because steam and paccafe does not have any shared files.

It's the same for me too since as far as I know Steam (the client program) doesn't have memory scanning features in it

thats what i tought at first place, but if so many brats yell like no tomorrow tht its possible .. it made me kind a paranoid. so i tought ill post it and see what you, Luigi, and others think here.

well i have to mention that when i uninstalled paccafe, it did had some files in windows folder (some dll files i think). it asked that .. those files r not used anymore do u want to remove them.
but if they not used by anything else..then i doubt tht real steam uses them.
