hi recently we had a group of ppl disabling our rcon our medal of honor allied assault server 1.11 linux ,, After doing some research i had found the tool in one of your downloads ,, anyways is there any thing to fix this up so it will not happin any more by using this tool,, I have tested it myself on my own server and it does indeed do exactly what this group of ppl were doing to us.

yeah there is a patch I made which disables the half-second limitation, obviously disabling it has the downside of being more vulnerable to brute forcing attacks, so choose a strong password.

the patch is: http://aluigi.org/patches/q3rconz.lpatch
and the patcher (for applying the previous path) is: http://aluigi.org/mytoolz.htm#lpatch

if you can modify the remote executable and can re-upload it (usually via ftp, depends by your game hoster) then you can do it by yourself:
- download the remote mohaa_lnxded file
- launch lpatch.exe
- select q3rconz.lpatch
- select mohaa_lnxded
- you should see a message asking to make a backup and then a success message
- now stop your server and re-upload the modified mohaa_lnxded via ftp overwriting the previous executable

if you can't do this you are forced to ask to your game hoster to do it

obviously, anyway it's good to remember that the most critical bug affecting this game (mohaabof, which is just the same of q3infoboom) is officially patched by Icculus in Linux:

Thanks man, we finally got our host to patch our server, and it works great!
Do u mind if we up this to our site, so we can give it to our friends as well? If you do, please reply and we will remove it from our site.
Thanks again for all the help!

no problem if the file remains unmodified (although I don't like the redundancy of the data)

I was wondering if this rconfloodfix and the boffix don't screw up each other? They are both changing bytes in the mohaa.exe and mohaa_server.exe but I just wanted to check if both patches work when both patched on the executables?

p.s. Great work your doing here, much appreciated.
p.p.s. what would be considered a strong rconpassword, something like ''sn1p3rs3rv3r'' ?

mohaboffix and q3rconz fixes and modify 2 different functions and yes, they can (must!) be used together.

about the second question: yes it's secure.
