Ok, that explains why the other tool can't do it either, I think we use the same techniques, at least I bother to consistency check first.

Try using a different version of the xen decrypter and everything should work. I had this same issue occasionally and whenever it happened i just tried another xen program until it worked properly (the java version, regular .exe version, the "modified by gyuzzi99" or something like that version, etc).

Sometimes the xen decrypter act like all is ok but will spit out a bad file. Usually fsbext will say something about the file possibly still being encrypted, but sometimes fsbext will still process it and thats when you get the scrambled/weird names. Even when fsbext appears to work fine but the xmaparser cant find anything, it was always a bad .xen decryption. I've gone thru and decrypted all of the 360 GH games and DLC up until GH6 and there was only one .fsb.xen from one single song in all of them that would not work at all. I dont even remember what song it was but i *think* it was on GH5, and the other .fsb.xen's for that song worked fine.

Also, I'm pretty sure the PC version/360 version use the exact same identical datafiles for the songs. If there was any difference it was probably from one of your test files being an .mp3 or something like that.

Good luck!

PS- if you ever have a problem with some of the decoded wav's being incomplete/not as long as the other stems in the song, try a different XMA header before using towav.

I think that's the one I was thinking of actually. Luckily there's an unencrypted .mogg of that song from Rock Band though.

I *think* it was this http://www.mediafire.com/file/mtwnfmzeyn3/XENFinal.exe and this http://www.mediafire.com/?jryutynme0z

I'm not sure if you've used the .exe versions before, but you will be amazed how slow the java one is compared to them.

@crzdrum
that thing about neversoft is false and you have been an idiot to delete your posts

@Vanheiggien
that file you uploaded is the raw content so basicly you must add the header to it but you need some info first.
how and where you extracted it?

i guess this is some kind of protection... i downloaded xbox-vesrion of GH5 (mvlx-gh5g.iso 7 838 695 424 bytes) and failed to get ANY track from it.

1st, i got a lot more errors during *.xen unpacking (12 files instead of 2 in Metallica), but this not critical. I got the same "multichannel soooo", "multichhhhe[%???ound", "multichhhhek%???ound", "multiiiinTe??? souNd" etc. and all extracted *.xma < than 2KB (most of then 0).

this is what xma_test tells:

here is one *.fsb for example: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5646108/womanfromtokyo_1.rar

interesing that most of them now contain string "mUltichannel sound" (with uppercase U) - 230 files. 17 fsb's contain "rubbish-like" string permutations like "multichannel soooo" i mentioned before.

I have these tracks already (from PC version), but just for curiosity downloaded xbox GHWT, and it also contain several "multichannel soooo". it's obviously not a broken iso... Maybe it is some kind of bug in ISO extractor (?) or bug in xendecrypt.class or smth else...

oh xbox tracks are much higher in quality than PC version! PCs tracks spectrum goes up to 16 KHz and xboxs up to 24 (!!) kHz.. ))) also xbox tracks weights a bit more bytes...

sadbuttrue_2.fsb.xen in Demo version of GH:M (only 4 songs) binary identical to that in Full version (and as such also un-extractable).

p.s. guys where are you? any comment? :-((

I tried new fsbext directly on *.xen file and got this... but i dont know where to search that key... (( could you help a little?

- select the input FSB archive to extract
- select the output folder where extracting the files
- input file: D:\--- RARE FOLDERS ---\GHM\1\sadbuttrue_2.fsb.xen
- enter folder: D:\--- RARE FOLDERS ---\GHM\1
- probably the file uses encryption, insert the needed keyword:

it's possible to see part of the plain-text password in the encrypted file!

hello! i've already decrypted that "rare" (5-10%) *.xen's in GH:WT,GH:SH & GH:Metallica (all x360) that "regular" java xendecrypt couldn't decrypt correctly. At first I didn't understand how to use guessfsb+fsbdec, but then i figured it out. BTW, i also encountered JUST ONE mega-suspicious *.xen that i coudn't decrypt with both tools. But maybe it's different from yours? My is today_3.fsb.xen from GH:WT. Here it is: if it is not the one you've met please decrypt it for me to *.fsb... :-) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5646108/today_3.fsb.xen (2,18 MB)

what tool did you use for x360 GH5? xendecrypt doesnt' work at all (0% xens decoded), guessfsb very time consuming (manual key copy&paste, no batch-able).

thank you! the java app from GHWT_Tools 1.0 works fast, but from GHWT_Tools 1.3 slooooooow. Is there any difference except speed? I didn't notice, so I didn't use it. But maybe 1.3 works with Band Hero/GH5? i don't know but it really slow, so i don't interested in it.

btw, what about rock band DLC's after 01.01.2009 and "The Beatles and Green Day" moggs- have they been finally cracked? the one that couldn't be decrypted with xorloser's SongDecrypt.exe from Arctool7...

also i made an app in VB which makes a "ready-to-start" batch-file from the data stored in songs.dtb (unpacked to songs.dta) in RB 1 & 2. It uses oggdec to decode moggs and console audio editor SoX to remix mono-multichannel wav's into stereo wav using correct panning for left/rigth/center (this info stored in songs.dtb for each song). SO it makes tracks to listen w/o manual mogg-to-wav Audacity procedure. i can share it if you are interested

you do realize that this is bullshit right ? if they got this info, it means they stole it or got it illegally anyways.

Luigi, just change the forum settings so ppl cant delete or edit their posts, thats what i did on mine. otherwise its extremely annoying if half posts are missing.
