Hey guys,

I was hosting my server for Halo CE a few days ago, and some asshole came on and crashed it. So I started researching, and I found aluigi's site. I downloaded the fixes for haloboom, and applied it. It worked, haloboom.exe told me my server isn't vunerable. Cool. But now I found out about haloloop3.exe.. I tested it on my server, and it crashed my Halo CE.

I couldn't find a fix for it on the website, is there one out right now?

Running halo CE 1.04 I believe. or 1.0.0.6xxx.

Thanks.

you need to apply the patch released almost half year ago:

optionally, if you don't want to update your clients take a look at the following thread:

Cool, thanks mate.

I love what you've done with this. Great stuf lol.

Thanks for the link.

Oh with this, can I play without a CD? or is there a patch available for it?

version 1.08 has removed the cd check so, yes, you no longer need it

Cool, thanks again =P

I updated it, for some reason it says my CD key is invalid. boo. the only patch I needed was the dedicated server patch. I found a patch on filefront which lets the 1.8 servers show up as 1.006 servers. Using that currently, working fine. no one's been crashing it.

Awesome site you have here =D

You should move into a real forum system instead of "freeforums" If you need a host, contact me I can host.

except for some problems some months ago (slowness, some users here remember it) I can say that this freeforums works enough well and it's even more than my actual needs.

the only negative thing I can argue is about the advertisenments but it's not a problem because it's up to the user to configure his browser and/or the hosts file for a clean navigation and in any case this is a free forum so it's an acceptable compromise.

in case someone needs it I have just created a fix for haloloop3.
obviously the retail server (1.08) is already patched so doesn't need it, but probably it can be useful to who has a halotrial server.
this patch disables also the check performed at runtime by halo demo which verifies that the executable has not been modified so now it's possible to modify halo.exe without the problem of "Gathering exception":
